The 3rd Annual Summer Superfest is a mulit-age division basketball event for teams all over the nation.

 CJ Washington and Shaun Thomas did the majority of the scoring as the Warriors capped a perfect tournament with a 40-38 overtime victory over the CG Wolves in the 12U championship game. The 12U Warriors - Holt (6-0) captured their first championship with their first trip ever to the Super 60.

They have this little swagger, they just go out there and play hard and win. They are very capable of winning big in July if they keep playing how they're are playing.

Jamal Bienemy made a lay-up with 18 seconds left to pass its toughest test for their second victory over the CG Wolves this season. Noah Thomas' three in regulation cut the lead to two and it put the Wolves winning streak in jeporadry.

The team struggled early but a second half defensive effort along with a better rebounding game by CJ Washington and Jhamon Ausbon, chipped away at what the Wolves did in the first half. Eden Holt took control of the tempo on the offensive side to put the Warriors in position to win the game.

"The one thing you have to love about this team is their disposition on the floor. No its not arrogance or cockienss, but its the focus that goes into winning on this level. They believe!"

The starting five led the way with a solid defensive effort that limited the explosive Team Izod to a miserable morning. The Warriors reserves added to the misery by keeping up the same defensive pressure.

It was the Warrior's defense that won this game, suffocating Team Izod with size in the interior and athleticism. The Warriors had some key steals and forced many turnovers, and limited IZOD to a miserable a low percentage shooting from the field.

With the win, Coach Lamar Holt's Warriors will face off in the 12U Gold bracket championship game against the CG Wolves, a familiar powerhouse from North Texas at 1pm.

Coach Holt displays more of the same with an undefeated effort in pool play against Tammany Tarheels 55-22 and 35-36 close one against the 916 Select. The 12U Warriors - Holt kicks off bracket play Sunday versus the winner of the Southeast Elite/Atlanta Celtics game.

The NOLA Primetime Super 60 may be the biggest tournament on the travel schedule for the Warriors organziation this year. This year we have two teams participating.

Six months later after the season started, the 2018 Warriors and coach Lamar Holt will take center stage when their first game of the tournament tips off against Tammany Tarheels at 1:30pm Saturday at the Alario. They will close out pool play that evening at 6:30pm versus the 916 Select out of California.

2018 Warriors are billed as a marquee team in the 6th grade division, and you can bet plenty of eyes will be on Holt's Warriors as it tries to build on the momentum of this season's accomplishments heading into the 2012 Southwest Nationals.

No.4 in the nation, 9U Warriors - Lawrence will take on the New Orleans Jazz (Sat.10:30pm, Cabrini HS) and the Memphis War Eagles (3:30pm, christian brothers) in pool play. Coach Lawrence is having an outstanding season and at this will be a good test for them before the Southwest Nationals.

Winning the NOLA Hoops Primetime Super 60 won't be easy for Holt's or Lawrence's Warriors. Here is what you need to know about these these teams.

2018 Warriors
Coach: Lamar Holt
Last tournament played: won championship in Spring Superfest against Gulf Coast Blue Chips The skinny: The 2018 team has gone three consecutive years with a AAU national ranking in the Top 10 before finishing No. 22 last year. This is a strong and probally Lamar Holt's best team.

3rd Grade Warriors
Coach: Lawrence Last tournament played: Lawrence Warriors beat Baytown Saints in the championship The skinny: After being ranked No.4 in the nation, the Warriors will be under a huge spotlight as they build on that success in New Orleans.

good run for coach Holt and the 17U Warriors....

Senior Ricky Jones drops 15 points and Junior Kadarius Baker added 12 points in the 51-41 win over SA rhythmn in the first game on bracket play Sunday. 

Ricky Jones had 17 points and 12 rebounds in the Warriors win over Texas Tigers Elite in the second game.

The 17U Warriors beat the STX Hoopsters 76-51 in the first pool game. Ricky Jones had 25 points and 11 rebounds and Kenton Sams had 14 points.

The 17U Warriors lost to the CC Panthers 52-50 with Xavier Dupree dropping 24 on the Panthers in the loss.

"This is what happens when you believe," Holt said. "This is what happens when you follow the formula, when you play for one another. We are going to get back out there tomorrow and see what happens."

 

The Warriors made the trip with only 5 players. Coach Felix and his warriors are back in action on May 19th and 20th when they enter into the Rookies Invitational in Houston, Texas.
