The 4th Grade Warriors Had Their Way In The All American Spring Championship Tournament

The 4th Grade Warriors won the championship in the 5th Grade division in the Kid's Kingdom All American Championship Tournament.

Coach Edgar's Warriors ended the tournament of thrills and close finishes with a margin of victory in a championship game by two over Team Sneed yesterday.

They did it with the style they are making much sought-after -- tenacious man-to-man defense - they rattled The Fastbreakers, Dallas Cobras, War and Houston Elite, a team known for it's discipline and poise.

The 4th Grade Warriors literally fought to get to the championship game. DJ Edgar was ejected after a phantom hit was allegedly thrown in the Cobras game. The Warriors ended up beating the Cobras out of Dallas by 10-points.

For Coach Edgar, the man who paces the coaches box as though it pains him to watch his own team win, getting this trophy in this division is looking like his team is on its way to doing bigger and better things this summer.

No one seemed like they could stop the Warrior's yesterday.

The Warriors were down by 7 and without big man Michael Moore, the team got big play from the tournament's MVP, Byron Schoby who played big in the two games that DJ Edgar missed. Anderson Kopp stepped up in this tourney and even scored 17 points in one game. Cody Hunter and Kimani Briscoe both played tough defense and newcomer Xavier Rosett, showed what he could do on the court. The spark plug off the bench, Ryan Stewart played well although the Warriors were out-manned this weekend in a couple of games.

Anderson Kopp put the bow tie on a perfect weekend with a last second shot to beat Team Sneed out of Beaumont.

Congrats to the Warriors on a weekend well done.
