HOUSTON, Texas -- In two days, the damage was done at the Houston Hardwood Classic and so was the Warriors. All five teams played extrememly well but the talent in all the divisions was swift and surprising that the RYTES Warriors didn't have an answer on bracket play Sunday.
Coach Felix's 3rd grade team went 3-0 on Saturday only to fall to the host team, Gulf coast Blue Chips in the semi-final, 25-15. Coach Felix said he'd take that performance anyday but he noted that his team needed to work on some elelments of their game.
The story with coach Anthony's 5th grade team didn't go too well, they were 0-2 by Saturday afternoon, but the resilence of the team will bring them back next tournament.
Coach Edgar and his band of Warrior's (4th grade) played up this weekend and won all three games by a minimum of 15 points on Saturday but lost by 7 on Sunday after giving up the lead in the game.
Coach Shaun and his 6th grade Warriors blazed through pool play agaisnt Swoosh Select, DSG and won by 40 points against the Clippers. The Warriors - Shaun did not participate in bracket play.
Coach Brantley's 6th grade Warriors ended up 1-2 on Saturday but most of the games that was seen saw theirt games turned by some costly turnovers, although the play of many on this team was very good.
Overall the talent was very good in all the divisions in this tournament. Fans at this tournament were very involved and the Gulf Coast Blue Chips were a very good host team.
