This Weekend, We Have Fo... **coughing** Five Teams In The 2011 Spring Tipoff....

WHAT: 2011 Spring Tipoff  Basketball Tournament WHEN: March 4-5

Black and Silver Warrior fans will be out in full force at and around Jones High School. The parents of Coach Edgar's team will be cheering from both ends of the court. Meanwhile, Coach OC's parents will make the other team wonder just what they have gotten themselves into. Coach Shaun team parents will try to sit around his bench so they can keep their kids pumped to play harder and Coach Brantley team's parents will be peppered in the stands and around the court making sure their kids keep the momentum.  And at Harvest Time, we will have Coach Lawrence team's parents who will be there cheering for they young players. Big fun.

The Teams

Coach Lawrence is bringing his high-energy team to Harvest Time to play some old foes that they have beaten already this year, so the SPO Ballers will get a chance, along with the L&S Tarheels and D-Gibs to redeem themselves to a squad that has gotten some chemistry going...looks good for the Coach Lawrence's squad to come out this tourney the victor.

Coach Edgar's team has been on a roll lately and this weekend. They will go into this weekend playing up a bracket and hoping to jump all over the L&S Tarheels and Pearland Bulldogs. His defense has been getting quicker and quicker so we expect them to do well in this tournament.

Coach OC's team will bring defense first and with those big boys in the paint, they should do well in pool play against the Martin Brothers and D-Gibs Black. Coach OC's team will run on you so check out how they will take advantage of the quick transitions this weekend.

Coach Brantley's team which loves to attack the paint and create opportunities will take the court in pool play against the Angleton Jazz and Martin Brothers. This team has practice well over the past two weeks, so expectations are high since they have acquired some new players.

Coach Shaun's team has one speed and that's "go" and they will be "going" against the likes of The Fastbreakers and D-Gibs Hoops. Guard play and aggressive boys in the paint makes this "pass and cut" team  worthwhile to watch this weekend at this tournament.
